It’s been a while since my last post as it has been a bit of whirlwind over the last few months.
So, on 23rd March 2019 I am pleased to report I survived my Spinnaker Tower abseil!
I had such incredible support from the 37 other friends and family members that took part and helped to raise a staggering £10,000 towards my fundraising target.
In the days that followed this terrifying but incredible event, I received some rather fantastic news.
Two charities had made separate contact with me and stated that they were in a position to offer significant donations to help me reach my £80,000 target and that’s exactly what happened. As of 25th March 2019 I was able to say that my fundraising target had been achieved and I was going to be able to purchase my very own Re-Walk exoskeleton!
The weeks that followed have seemed like a blur. It all appeared to happen so quickly. My device was ordered and I am now in a position to be able to start training to use it, hopefully independently.
To be honest, I still feel like I’m dreaming.
The words thank you just don’t seem enough. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped and supported me to reach this target. They have literally changed my life and I will be forever grateful for what they have done to help me.
Here’s to the next chapter!
