Absolutely petrified of heights (amongst many other things – including fish – don’t go there!) So, I thought, I know what will be a good idea…launch yourself 560ft down a building!! Clearly I did not think this through properly. Looking down from the first floor glass balcony at my local Marks and Spencer store is enough to make my palms sweat and make me feel incredibly anxious and nauseous.
So, anyway, on 23rd March 2019, I will be conquering my fear and despite not even being able to stand unaided, I will undertaking an abseil down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth!
I will be given the opportunity to have a private booking to use the tower for the whole day, to promote my fundraising campaign and undertake additional fundraising on site. However, in order for this incredible challenge to go ahead, I need a team of 39 additional people who are also willing to face their fears, undertake this challenge with me and help maximise this fundraising opportunity for ‘Lucy’s Legs’ to purchase a ReWalk Exoskeleton device so I can walk again.
So far, I have managed to recruit 34 more crazy people to undertake this terrifying task with me but, there is still time to fill those last places. Please get in touch if you think you can help.
Registration fee is £100 to include professional instruction, use of equipment and finishers medal (the best bit!).
I’m looking for participants to also be able to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship to undertake the abseil. (All proceeds will go directly to the Lucy’s Legs fundraising campaign).
Just 2 weeks to go now. I can feel myself sweating as I type this!
