Last year I completed the Great South Run in my everyday wheelchair for the first time.It was a fantastic experience and I loved every minute of it.
Sadly, shortly afterwards, I developed severe tendon damage in my elbows and have been receiving some intensive physiotherapy treatment ever since.
Whilst I would have loved to have completed in the Great South Run again this year, realistically this is not going to be possible.
However, I have some amazing friends and work colleagues who have offered to run this on my behalf and try and raise some funds for the Lucy’s Legs campaign. I am unbelievably thankful for their help and support with this and, who knows, maybe one of them can help push me round the course instead! 🙂
There’s still time to enter the race so, should anyone else reading this be willing to undertake this challenge, get in touch!
A couple of weeks ago I had received some contact from the Great South Run to say that they would like to feature my story. This is very exciting news and I’m grateful and hopeful for the additional coverage of the campaign that this may have.
I went to undertake some filming at Southsea Common last week so fingers crossed this will be shown in the coming weeks/months. I’ll be sure to keep you posted!
